Procedure
to apply for exemption from the requirement of "Resident in
Malaysia" |
|
(i) |
For
pensioner/pension recipient going overseas for period exceeding
three months. |
|
(ii) |
Application
submitted three months prior of departure overseas by completing
the following forms:- |
|
|
- |
Application
letter; |
|
|
- |
Questionnaire
to determine Resident Status; |
|
|
- |
Declaration
of Resident Status under Pension Adjustment Act 1980; |
|
(iii) |
Supporting
documents:- |
|
|
(a) |
A copy of
travel passport with all pages endorsed ; |
|
|
(b) |
Other
documents:-
For
Medical Treatment:-
Doctor's
affirmation that the disease suffered requires further
treatment.
For Education:-
Confirmation
letter from the institute of higher learning regarding the
course and its duration.
For
Employment:-
Employment
offer letter from the employee of contract agreement the
indicates the contract period. |

(iv) |
As a
guide, approval may be awarded for the following periods:- |
|
|
(a) |
social
purpose such as sigh-seeing, visit child or relatives - 6 months |
|
|
(b) |
employment
- according to the contract term (on condition pensioner/pension
recipient is not a Permanent Resident of the foreign country) |
|
|
(c) |
pensioner/pension
recipient's education - one year ( extension would be based on
the endorsement of the institution of higher learning) |
|
|
(d) |
medical - 6
months |
