EXPLANATION BY THE PUBLIC SERVICE DEPARTMENT

ON SPECIAL PAYMENT FOR GOVERNMENT PENSIONERS

With regard to the Prime Minister’s announcement of RM500 special payment for pension recipients during his Budget speech, the Public Service Department (PSD) wishes to clarify that this payment will be made to all pension recipients including pension retirees, widows, widowers and children. Similar payment will also be made to Malaysian Arm Forces pensioners. The payment will be made to all recipients entitled to pensions in December 2009.

This special payment through bank will be made on 14^th December, a day before regular pension payment is credited on 15^th December 2009. Those paid through warrant will receive an additional warrant early payment enabling encashment on 14^th December 2009.
