REPRESENTATIVE OF PENSIONER

Change of Pension Payments From Scheme B to Scheme A

Pensioners and pension recipients under Scheme B may apply for payment under Scheme A provided pensioners and pension recipients agree to appoint a representative. The primary responsibility is to inform Pension Division immediately when a pensioner or pension recipient dies or ceases to qualify under the pension law.

Appointment of Scheme A representative may be made by completing Form JPA.BP.SKP.B08 and subsequent monthly pension payment will be made through the Scheme A until the representative is disqualified or dies.

CONDITIONS TO BE A REPRESENTATIVE OF PAYMENT UNDER SCHEME A AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF REPRESENTATIVES

1. General Conditions
 

1.1

Aged 21 years and above;

1.2

Must be a citizen of Malaysia;

1.3

Must reside in Malaysia.

Representative Responsibilities

2.1

Inform the Pension Division immediately when a pensioner or pension recipient dies or is disqualified under the pension law in force;

2.2

Repay the overpaid pension as a result of failure to provide information to Pension Division of the death of pension recipients within seven days from the date of death, and

2.3

Notify any change of address and telephone number or other information relating to pensioners or pension recipients to the Pension Division

Revocation of Appointment

 

The appointment of a representative shall be void if: -

 

3.1

Pensioners or pension recipients: -
 

 

3.1.1

appoint a new representative, or

 

3.1.2

passed away; or

 

3.1.3

disqualified from receiving a pension under the pension law
 

 

3.2

 loss of citizenship

3.3

Public Service Department (PSD) is entitled to cancel the appointment of a representative and ask for the appointment of new representatives in the event the original representative could not be reached by the Department at the address and phone number given during the monitoring of a payment scheme from time to time.

3.4

Payment under Scheme A will be waived if the conditions are not complied with, in which the pension will be converted back to Scheme B.
